What do we need to recover from and what does recover mean anyway? Webster’s defines it :to bring back to normal condition or position.

As humans we’re not static. We live in a world that causes mental and physical stress. Sometimes it’s voluntary other times it’s not. Either way, stress unchecked will inevitably break down our mind and body, so it’s important that we pay attention and manage stress levels in order to remain in a healthy range. We do this through recovery. 

Recovery can take many forms. When we sleep, stretch, or maintain a nutritious diet for example, we’re providing our body with some of the tools and materials it needs to recover. 

At times we may experience periods of high stress or periods of low stress. Knowing how to recognize your stress markers and apply appropriate recovery is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
